There is no summer activity in Telluride better than hiking, and what better way to hike then with a trusty friend by your side. My dog Hobbs and I love to hike the trail to Bear Creek Falls, and the trailhead is just a short walk away from the hotel. The trail is a gradual ascent that suits everyone, no matter your level of fitness. It is a very popular hike for locals and visitors alike and a great way to not only give your pet some exercise, but also excellent for socializing with other pets and pet lovers. The Bear Creek trail is a well-traveled jeep road, now closed to motorized vehicles, that meanders through alpine forest, aspen meadows, and has several watering holes for your friend along the way. This walk ends at the base of Bear Creek Falls and follows the same route back down to town, the whole trip taking about ¾ – 1 ½ hours. The Bear Creek trail is also a gateway to other, more extensive hikes like Nellie Mine, Lena Basin Lake or the Wasatch Trail.
