Beautiful & relaxing, ideal for a couple with teenage children

The premises are for the most part beautiful and expansive, however the quality of the bedrooms ranges from excellent for the master bedroom to so-so for the others. While the master bedroom is enormous with high ceilings and a luxurious jaccuzi tub in the master bathroom, the other bedrooms are tucked away in the basement and would not be considered pampering. I travelled with my husband and children ranging from age 5 to 18 (not quite a kid), for a total of 7 in our party, so the arrangement worked well for us. Kids generally don't have high expectations for their accommodations. Also, the living and dining areas were fantastic for a large party. The fireplace, TV/DVD player, kitchen amenities and more were perfect. (I don't think the set-up works well if you have only young kids, as the parents are two floors away from the children.) Regarding location, we'd misunderstood the marketing to mean the condo was near the base lift. It's near the gondola that takes you to the base lift. This was fairly convenient, though at the end of a day's skiing, you could end up waiting 10 minutes to board the gondola back. After that, there's a short uphill hike to the condo. My biggest criticism was the service provided by the property management company. When we arrived late at night (because of difficult , wintry road conditions throughout Colorado), the packet didn't indicate clearly where Unit 20 was. The night attendant, contacted by phone, had no clue how to direct us. This was very frustrating, as we couldn't figure out how to get into the indoor garage or how to find the condo, for quite a while. Additionally, when the light bulb burned out in the walk-in closet, there were none to be found in the condo. The handyman sent over didn't know where to find a light bulb and then bought the wrong one. (He seemed checked out.) Eventually this got resolved. On the last day, the lock was programmed to switch codes a full hour before our check-out time. This almost resulted in our getting locked out as we were loading the car. Finally, I asked this same property management company to send me my bathing suit, left in the master bathroom. I never received it. Nor did I receive a follow-up explanation regarding this request. My advice to the owners is to switch to a better property management company.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences at Casa on the Creek. We certainly enjoyed having you as guests and we are hopeful we will get the opportunity to create an even better experience for you on your return to Telluride. This beautiful property is still relatively new to our portfolio and we admittedly missed a few items with regards to your arrival. We have updated our arrival instructions for late-night arrivals like yours to ensure the directions to the property and the front door are much more clear. Additionally, our enhanced concierge services, of which Casa on the Creek is a participant, will ensure we communicate with you before your arrival to avoid hassles like you encountered upon your arrival. I personally changed the light bulb in the master closet the next morning. Light bulbs are not normally an after-hours emergency so I regret you had to encounter a sleepy, not up to speed maintenance man. Lastly, that coded lock on the front door was most certainly acting up. We sincerely regret the way it behaved an how it negatively impacted the very end of your stay. We have since replaced the lock with a new one and those issues have been resolved. We sincerely appreciate you sharing your experiences, and again, we sincerely hope we get the chance to welcome you back soon.

The condo is gorgeous - once we found it. The building its in is a little intimidating, and unit #20 is all the way to the back, closest to the creek - which we enjoyed the sounds of with the windows open to the fresh mountain air. Nights were chilly, and the heat had been turned off in the downstairs bedrooms. Being radiant heat, it took a while to warm up. It also took a while to discover all the extras of the complex - outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness room, and what dad&daughter loved most: the rec room with pingpong table. It would be nice if there was a map in the guest info book. We had to beg the housekeeper (no english, a little confused) for a little extra time on departure day to really enjoy it all. The bedrooms don't have TVs which surprised me, but we weren't there to do what we could be doing at home. Getting to the gondola (1st leg) was easy, but I'd take the road down cuz the little shortcut trail is steep. Then we were riding over the rooftops to Telluride. Even though there was a little bit of a line (10 minutes) when we came home from the music, it was way better than driving. I can imagine this place in winter -- skiing is RIGHT THERE!

Thanks for taking the time to leave your comprehensive and useful review. We very much appreciate it! The heat being turned down upon your arrival was a miss on our part so we greatly regret that. Even in summer months the evenings can be cool so we always want to have the thermostats appropriately set. We will do better with that. And the map of the complex is a fabulous idea. One of the great features of Casa on the Creek is the access guests enjoy to all of the common amenities. Our sales team and photos promote these items but including a map is a good idea - thank you for the great suggestion! We have passed your message regarding TVs in the bedrooms onto our property owner - another good idea. It appears from your feedback that you greatly enjoyed the location of the property - close to the free gondola with the sounds of Prospect Creek outside. And you are right...across street from ski trail so very tough to beat the location! We look forward to welcoming you back to Telluride soon!
