La Marmotte

Oh La La
Since 1988, La Marmotte has been serving excellent French food to Telluride locals and visitors alike. Warm and cozy, the restaurant is located in a former "Ice House" from the mining era. While perfect for couples and families, it does have a romantic vibe, which is great for date night. Traditional French dishes like coq au vin and the hanger steak (think steak frites) shine, as does the stuffed chicken breast and pork tenderloin.
At times, it can be difficult to get a reservation, so we'll let you in on a local secret... the bar is first-come, first-served and offers both full dinner service and usually a bar special. The bar special is a pre-fixe of an appetizer and a glass of wine at a reasonable price.
In the summertime, the patio is home to a bustling scene. Sit under the umbrellas on a warmer evening and enjoy ahi tuna carpaccio, deviled eggs or seared deep sea scallops with a bubbly glass of champagne.
