The National

Hip Eatery With Craft Cocktails
The National arrived on the restaurant scene in late 2018, bringing a new level of swank to Telluride. The beautifully designed space and contemporary cuisine have quickly placed this eatery on the "go-to" list while in town. A creative mixologist, affectionally known as Diamond Dave, helms the bar, serving a variety of concoctions from the Campfire Old Fashioned to the Mountain Shrine.
The menu may be limited, but it is certainly comprised of five-star choices. Starters that shine include the roti flatbread topped with squash puree, roasted shallots, fried brussels, arugula, fig, lemon ricotta and the tempura rock shrimp. While all of the entrees are stellar, the seared scallops atop a bed of beluga lentils are exceptionally delicious and the duck and beef dishes are some of the best in town.
The National has a few booths perfect for kicking back with friends and just sharing drinks and appetizers, or stop by for an after-dinner aperitif and split one of the outstanding desserts.
