San Miguel River
You don't have to go very far to enjoy paddleboarding in Telluride. The San Miguel River is a popular spot to float and paddle but also offers a few rushing rapids for an added adventure. Leave from the town of Telluride and disembark right before the roundabout for the best trip!

Alpine Lakes
SUPing in some of the nearby alpine lakes is both scenic and relaxing. These calm lakes make great spots for stand-up paddleboarding solo or with a group.
- Trout Lake - Located 14 miles south of Telluride, this stunning lake provides 360-degree views and generally calm waters. It's a great spot to hang out, relax and have a picnic afterward, too!
- Alta Lakes - These stunning lakes are 8.5 miles from Telluride in a popular camping spot on the back side of the Telluride Ski Resort and Palmyra Peak. Stake out a spot for the day and take turns paddleboarding at these unique lakes. Don't forget to stop at the Alta Ghost Town on your way up!
